MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - The Merkuriy corvette of Project 20380 has started the state trial program in the Baltic Sea, the Baltic Fleet's press service said on Thursday.
"Representatives of the shipyard's commissioning team together with the ship crew and the members of the state admission committee are conducting maneuvering and speed trials of the ship, checking the operations of all units, systems and nodes, shipborne weapons, and navigation and radio equipment," the press service said.
According to the press service, after the sea phase trials ends, the supervisory opening of mechanisms and devices would be performed at the shipyard, and specialists and members of the state commission would evaluate the general condition of the corvette, its equipment and all means available.
"The date of the corvette's joining the Navy and the ceremony of raising St. Andrew's flag will be determined after the delivery and acceptance certificate is signed and approved by Russian Navy Commander Adm. Nikolai Yevmenov," the press service said.
It was reported in September that the Merkuriy corvette was undergoing factory motion trials in the Baltic Sea.
