Georgian opposition deputies boycott justice minister's speech after release of Saakashvili's hospital footage

TBILISI. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Georgian opposition deputies left a parliament plenary meeting on Friday ahead of Justice Minister Rati Bregadze's speech, having described the release of footage from the hospital room of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili at the Vivamedi clinic as a crime.

"This man [Bregadze] should be a prisoner in the dock, because he committed a crime by releasing footage of Mikheil Saakashvili without his consent," Khatia Dekanoidze, a deputy from the United National Movement opposition party, said at the meeting.

Opposition deputies left the meeting in protest before Bregadze addressed the parliament.

Earlier this week, the Georgian Justice Ministry's Penitentiary Service released footage of Saakashvili's aggression towards medical personnel. Bregadze told journalists, as he commented on the video, that Saakashvili had been trying to intentionally harm his health and was simulating a severe condition.
