Russian govt to audit spending on special military operation - Mishustin

MOSCOW. Dec 27 (Interfax) - The Russian government is planning to conduct audits looking into how funds have been spent on the repair and production of arms, military and special equipment for Russia's special military operation and into assignations for purchases of fuel and lubricants, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"A significant issue is the oversight of the use of budgetary funds being allocated for the special military operation. The government has planned the audits of those resources that were allocated for the repair and production of arms, military and special equipment, the procurement of fuel and lubricant supplies. Further down the road, we'll audit the remaining areas of spending on the special military operation," Mishustin said during a meeting of the Coordination Council for Material Support of the Russian Armed Forces.

Mishustin also noted at the meeting that a significant amount of tasks that the Coordination Council is charged with are related to infrastructure. "This includes crating fortifications, outfitting them with engineering equipment. Necessary funding has been allocated for this," he said.

In particular, almost 34 billion rubles have been allocated for subsidies to the Russian regions bordering Ukraine, he said.

Appropriate technical specifications have been prepared and sent to those who will implement them, while responsible acceptors at the stage of commissioning border area facilities have been determined, he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin is coordinating this sphere, Mishustin said.
