MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Russian forces hit Ukrainian troops near Ugledar in the Donetsk People's Republic and Pavlovka and Levadnoye in the Zaporozhye region in the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"In the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye sectors, Vostok Group units developed an offensive and hit the enemy near Ugledar in the Donetsk People's Republic and Pavlovka and Levadnoye in the Zaporozhye region," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Thursday.
"In all, the enemy lost up to 60 troops, three armored combat vehicles and two pickup trucks in this area," he said.
"In the Kupyansk sector, artillery from the western group of forces hit concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces troops of the 14th and 92nd mechanized brigades near Sinkovka and Timkovka in the Kharkov region and Novosyolovskoye in the Lugansk People's Republic. Over 20 Ukrainian troops were killed, and an armored combat vehicle, a pickup truck, and a D-20 howitzer were destroyed," he said.
In the Krasny Liman sector, tactical and army aviation and artillery of the Center Group hit units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 25th Airborne Brigade and the 95th Air Assault Brigade near Yampolovka in the Donetsk People's Republic and the Serebryanskoye forestry reserve area, Konashenkov said.
"In this area, the enemy lost up to 70 troops killed or wounded, two armored combat vehicles, and four U.S.-made M777 artillery systems over the day," he said.
In the Donetsk sector, the South Group continued an offensive and seized more advantageous frontlines and positions, Konashenkov said. A Ukrainian Armed Forces artillery ammunition depot was destroyed near Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, he said.
"Over 40 Ukrainian troops were killed, and an infantry combat vehicle, two Grad multiple rocket launchers, a U.S.-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, two D-20 and Giatsint-B howitzers, and a U.S,-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-mortar radar were destroyed there over the day," Konashenkov said.
"Additionally, two Ukrainian Armed Forces depots storing fuel for military vehicles and three artillery ammo depots were destroyed near Ugledar in the Donetsk People's Republic and Chervonoye and Kantserovka in the Zaporozhye region," he said.
"Counter-battery measures taken in the Kherson sector destroyed three D-20 howitzers, a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, and two U.S.-made AN/TPQ-37 and AN/TPQ-50 counter-mortar radars. Four Ukrainian Armed Forces ammunition depots were hit near Dudchany and Tokarevka in the Kherson region and Chervonogrigorovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region," Konashenkov said.
