VOLGOGRAD. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is in Volgograd for a series of events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.
"This trip will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Red Army's victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. It is a sacred date for our country. It is a sacred date for Volgograd residents. There will be a number of commemorative events and probably there will be communication with people. Hopefully, we will show it. There will probably also be communication with the head of the region," presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters earlier.
