Russia, Belarusian pilots practicing relocation of military aircraft to alternate airfields

MINSK. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Belarusian and Russian pilots are practicing transferring military aircraft to alternate airfields, including civilian ones, said Andrei Lukyanovich, commander of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces.

"Among the elements are dispersal and relocation of aircraft to alternate airfields of both the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, including civilian aerodromes where our colleagues on Sukhoi Su-34 planes, our [Yak] 130 planes [of the Belarusian Air Force] landed. The infrastructure and possibility of redeployment to civilian aerodromes was checked," the commander said. A video of his commentary was released by the Belarusian Defense Ministry's press service on Thursday.

These actions are aimed at "considerably increasing the endurance of our aviation component of the regional group of troops (forces)," Lukyanovich said.
