Iskander-M missile system performs training launches at range in Buryatia

MOSCOW. Feb 3 (Interfax) - An Iskander-M tactical missile system has performed electronic missile launches at a mock enemy from a range in Buryatia, the press service for the Russian Eastern Military District said in a statement on Friday.

"Units from a missile formation of the Eastern Military District in Buryatia marched to a specialized range, where crews of an Iskander-M tactical missile system performed training (electronic) missile launches at a mock enemy," the statement said.

"During the off-road march, the troops accomplished over ten combat training missions, including deterrence of an attack by reconnaissance-and-sabotage groups of the mock enemy, crossing of contaminated terrain, deployment of hardware, and electronic missile strikes on the designated targets in difficult climatic conditions," it said.

The special tactical games focused on checking combat preparedness and serviceability of weapons and military hardware.
