Russia's Kursk region extends high terror threat alert indefinitely

KURSK. Feb 3 (Interfax) - The high terrorist threat alert introduced in the Kursk region has been extended from February 4, Kursk region Governor Roman Starovoit said.

"We extend the 'yellow' terrorist threat alert from February 4 for the entire period, intensive measures are now needed to protect and defend our territory. I will definitely report any possible changes in the situation," Starovoit said on his Telegram channel on Friday.

The region's governor asked local residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals, unattended items and drones by calling 112.

The yellow (high) terrorist threat alert was introduced in the Kursk region on April 11. The territory of the region borders on Ukraine and has been attacked repeatedly.
