Quake in Syria does not affect combat readiness of Russian military sites - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 6 (Interfax) - The recent quake has done no damage to Russian military sites in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"The quake that happened in northwestern Syria on February 6 has not affected combat readiness of the Russian airbase in Hmeimim and other military sites of the Russian contingent stationed in the Syrian Arab Republic," the ministry said.

Forces on duty are continuing their service as usual, it said.

"Personnel are accomplishing their missions, and there is no damage or destruction at Russian military sites," the ministry said.
