Russian Security Council secretary to take part in fifth multilateral meeting with counterparts on Afghanistan

MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Security Council secretaries of India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will meet in Moscow to discuss the settlement process in Afghanistan, the press service for the Russian Security Council said.

"The fifth multilateral meeting of Security Council secretaries (national security advisors) on Afghanistan will take place in Moscow on February 8. Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev will be representing the Russian Federation at the meeting," the press service said.

Besides Russia, senior security officials from India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will attend the meeting, it said.

"It is planned to discuss international security with emphasis on the settlement process in Afghanistan," the press service said.
