YEKATERINBURG. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Servicemen from the Russian military base in Tajikistan have trained demining of serpentine roads in the mountains with the assistance of canine units, the press service for the Russian Central Military District said on Wednesday.
"The bomb disposal experts have done visual reconnaissance and identified mock explosives. They cordoned off the area and demined difficult terrain among others," the press service said.
Meanwhile, the canine units trained the search for explosives, it said.
"Dogs in service are able to recognize the smell of TNT, plastid and a number of other explosives. Military engineers use their skills on a regular basis to inspect military infrastructure elements and during counter-terrorism training," the press service said.
