MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - The Russian National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) has disclosed details of a counterterrorism operation conducted in the Stavropol Territory on Wednesday: four militants linked to "Ukrainian radicals" have been killed.
"A counterterrorism operation carried out by the NAC headquarters in the Stavropol Territory resulted in neutralizing four militants plotting a terror attack on a railroad station in the territory," the NAC said.
There is information that "the militants were involved in the terrorist activity of a Ukrainian paramilitary nationalistic formation," it said.
A rifle, a handgun, and two improvised explosive devices, including one "blown up by the terrorists," have been found by security services on the clash scene.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) department in the Stavropol Territory launched a counterterrorism operation in the village of Petrovsky on Wednesday.
It later reported the killing of a group of militants who plotted a terror attack on a railroad station.
It said there were no casualties among law enforcement officers and civilians.
The counterterrorism operation ended on Thursday morning.
