Ukrainian drone downed in Belarus - Border Committee

MINSK. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Pinsk border guards in Belarus have intercepted a Ukrainian drone, the Belarusian State Border Committee said on Thursday.

"The incident happened near the border in the Stolin district on February 8. Belarusian border guards spotted a drone heading from the Ukrainian side toward the rear of Belarusian territory. A border detail curbed the Ukrainian drone's flight with an electronic gun," it said.

The quadcopter was equipped with a built-in video camera, and the contents of its memory card confirm that it was launched from Ukrainian territory to reconnoiter and record equipment providing the Belarusian border's security, it said.

An inquiry has been launched into the incident.

Similar incidents happened on November 2 and 16 and on December 1, 2022, the State Border Committee said.
