BANGALORE, India. Feb 14 (Interfax) - Russia continues to supply Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets to Myanmar, and the timeframe for handing over Pantsir-S1 air defense missile and artillery systems and Orlan-10E unmanned aerial vehicles is being specified, deputy head of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Vladimir Drozhzhov told Interfax.
"Deliveries of Su-30SME fighter jets are continuing. Two such planes were delivered to a foreign customer in 2022, and the other fighter jets specified by the contract will be supplied within the agreed timeframe," Drozhzhov said on the sidelines of the Aero India 2023 exhibition.
"The timeframe for delivering Pantsir-S1 systems and Orlan-10E unmanned aerial vehicles to Myanmar is being specified," he said.
Earlier, FSMTC head Dmitry Shugayev told reporters that under the contract signed in January 2021, Russia would deliver two Pantsir short-range air defense systems, produced by the Shipunov Design Bureau of Instrumental Engineering, which is part of NPO High-Precision Systems, to Myanmar.
It was reported officially earlier that that an agreement on the purchase by Myanmar of six Su-30 fighter jets from Russia was achieved in 2018.
