MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - Moscow has urged Washington not to blame other countries for the aerial objects seen in the U.S. territory and to deal with this situation itself.
Journalists asked Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday to comment on a statement by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg who said that the balloons flying over the United States were an example of increased spying on NATO countries by Russia and China. "First of all, NATO is an organization hostile towards us. It demonstrates such hostility every day and tries hard to declare its involvement in the conflict around Ukraine as much as it can," he said.
"Of course, that requires certain precautions," Peskov said. "As for the balloon story, which all of America currently lives in, voluntarily or not, perhaps, hardly anyone should be blamed. It would be better if the Americans deal with this situation on their own," he said.
