FSB reports blocking channel for passing info on military shipbuilding projects abroad in Crimea

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russian special services have blocked a channel for passing information on military shipbuilding projects abroad in Crimea, the Federal Security Service (FSB) office for Crimea and Sevastopol said on Wednesday.

"A channel for passing abroad findings of scientific research in the military shipbuilding industry has been blocked," it said.

While a local enterprise was being shut down some time ago, some of its employees unlawfully took away certain technical documents related to military shipbuilding and stored them at home or in garages, it said.

"From 2014 to 2021, Russian citizens fulfilled about 60 assignments from a foreign side and, using Internet services, passed to it technical documents concerning military ships for monetary reward," it said.

The FSB issued official warnings to four former employees of the Sevastopol ship repairs company against actions potentially leading to the commission of a high treason, it said.

The documents seized from said individuals have been transferred to the Sevastopol Ordzhonikidze Maritime Plant to use them in its work, it said.
