MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Russia's Rosoboronexport is ready to offer the joint development of weapons and military hardware to Middle East countries, Rosoboronexport head Alexander Mikheyev said.
"We are actively working on proposals on partnership formats most relevant for Middle East countries, first of all those involving a transfer of technologies, joint research and development, and offset programs," the company press service quoted Mikheyev as saying.
"Rosoboronexport is considering options of the joint development of modern high-tech products, including a fifth-generation fighter jet based on the Checkmate light tactical plane, and further development and production of air defense systems, naval hardware, and weaponry for the Ground Forces," Mikheyev said.
The company said it would demonstrate products of Russian defense plants in the Russian pavilion at the IDEX 2023 defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, on February 20-24.
The T-90MS tank, the Sprut-SDM1 light amphibious tank, the TOS-1A heavy flamethrower, the BMPT tank support system, the BMP-2 infantry combat vehicle, including the one with a new remotely controlled combat module, the BT-3F armored personnel carrier, and dynamic defense systems will be put on display at the exhibition, the press service said.
"The exhibits will include the Iskander-E tactical missile system, the 9K515 (Tornado-S) multiple rocket launcher and the Khrizantema-S and Kornet-EM anti-tank missile system," it said.
