YEREVAN. Feb 21 (Interfax) - U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien has announced Washington's intention to expand defense cooperation with Yerevan.
Kvien said while presenting credentials to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan that, despite being aware of the difficult and challenging times, she believed that the joint work could bring Armenia and bilateral relations to a better level. She also said she was looking forward to expanding the joint work, whether within the International Development Agency (USAID), in the field of defense or other areas, and to do everything to strengthen their cooperation. Her statement was quoted by the presidential press service.
She also declared the intention to assist in peace efforts in the South Caucasus.
Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan discussed military-technical cooperation with Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) Director James A. Hursch at a meeting in the United Arab Emirates on Monday on the sidelines of the IDEX and NAVDEX 2023 show.
