Russian Defense Ministry reports active actions of Russian troops in Donetsk, Krasny Liman sectors

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russian troops are operating actively in the Donetsk and Krasny Liman sectors and have delivered strikes against Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the Kupyansk sector, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

"In the Donetsk sector, about 350 Ukrainian troops, two armored combat vehicles, four vehicles, a D-20 howitzer and two D-30 howitzers were eliminated during active actions undertaken by units of the southern group of troops, air strikes, artillery fire and heavy flamethrower systems over the past day," Konashenkov said.

"In the Kupyansk sector, the artillery fire of the western group of forces hit Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the areas of Sinkovka, Krakhmalnoye in the Kharkov region and Novosyolovskoye in the Lugansk People's Republic," he said.

"The enemy losses amounted to up to 25 Ukrainian troops and two vehicles," Konashenkov said.

"In the Krasny Liman sector, units of the central group of forces engaged in active actions and artillery fire hit enemy troops and military hardware in the areas of Stelmakhovka, Chervonopopovka, Chervonaya Dibrova and Kuzmino in the Lugansk People's Republic," the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said.

"Up to 120 Ukrainian troops, four armored combat vehicles, as well as an Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer were eliminated in this sector over the past day," he said.
