Russian deputy FM, Chinese ambassador in Moscow discuss cooperation in UN

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin had a conversation with Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui on Tuesday, and the parties confirmed a high level of coordination of actions of Russia and China at international platforms, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Various aspects of cooperation of our countries in the United Nations with an emphasis on the importance of maintaining the closest interaction possible on the key items on the organization's agenda, including the reform of its Security Council, were discussed in depth during the talks. The parties also discussed in detail the global security initiative put forward by Beijing, which was commended by the Russian side, and the prompt start of the international investigation of the Nord Stream pipeline blast on September 26, 2022," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The discussion confirmed a high level of coordination of actions of Russia and China at international venues traditionally based on strong bilateral relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction," it said.
