Russian Security Council secretary discusses cooperation between Russian, Venezuelan security services, law enforcement agencies in Caracas

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Venezuelan National Defense Council Secretary-General Jose Ornelas Ferreira have discussed cooperation between security services and law enforcement agencies during bilateral security consultations.

"The prospects of bilateral cooperation between the justice ministries, including sharing experience in the legal regulation of operations of foreign non-profit organizations were discussed, alongside interaction between security services and law enforcement agencies. Particular emphasis was put on countering color revolutions and cooperating in information security," Patrushev's office said in a statement.

The parties also discussed international relations, including the situation in Latin America.

Representatives of Russian and Venezuelan ministries and agencies took part in the negotiations. The Russian delegation included representatives of the Security Council, the Interior Ministry, the Emergency Situations Ministry, the Justice Ministry, the Foreign Ministry and Rosfinmonitoring.
