MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Sukhoi Su-24M bombers and Su-30SM and Su-30SM2 multi-purpose fighter jets have delivered high-precision bomb strikes on mock enemy targets at an exercise at an air training range in the Kaliningrad region, the Baltic Fleet press service said on Wednesday.
"Naval aviation aircraft practiced strikes by airborne weapons against ground targets in daylight and at night. The pilots performed flights to a designated area, exposed the ground situation, and delivered high-precision bomb strikes on full-sized targets simulating airfields, troops and military hardware of the mock enemy with OFAB-250-270 high-explosive fragmentation bombs," the statement said.
The exercise was conducted at the altitudes ranging from 600 to 900 meters, and over 20 sorties involving the use of airborne weapons were performed at the exercise.
"More than 10 flight crews and over 50 engineering personnel were involved in the flights," the fleet said.
The pilots' practical actions were recorded by flight recorders, the elements of which were mounted on aircraft and the ground, it said.
