Russia and U.S. extend ISS cross-flights program to include one more mission - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Roscosmos and NASA have agreed an additional flight of a Russian cosmonaut to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft, the Roscosmos press service said on Wednesday.

"Under the cross-flights agreement between Roscosmos and NASA, Konstantin Borisov will travel to the International Space Station with the Crew-7 mission in the second half of 2023, while Alexander Grebenkin will join the Crew-8 mission in the first half of 2024," the press service.

"Alexander Grebenkin's flight extends the cross-flights agreement by one mission," it said.

At its meeting on March 1, the interdepartmental commission included Russian cosmonauts Borisov and Grebenkin in the crews of the Crew Dragon U.S. manned spacecraft, the press service said.

NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara will travel to the ISS on board Russia's Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft in the second half of 2023, Roscosmos said.

"If the launch of a Russian or a U.S. spacecraft is cancelled or seriously delayed, the implementation of the agreement makes it possible to ensure the presence of at least one Roscosmos cosmonaut and one NASA astronaut aboard the ISS to maintain the operation of the station's Russian and American segments, respectively," it said.
