Ukrainian army fires at border village in Russia's Kursk region, there are casualties - governor

VORONEZH. March 2 (Interfax) - Kursk Region Governor Roman Starovoit has reported a Ukrainian attack on a border village.

"Another attack on the Tetkino town in the Kursk region is ongoing. Our Armed Forces are returning fire. According to the preliminary information, there are casualties," Starovoit said on Telegram on Thursday.

He said he would provide details later. The number of casualties was unspecified.

The yellow (high) level of terrorist alert in the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine and has repeatedly been under fire, is in effect since April 11.
