Western policy for Ukraine leads to clash of nuclear powers - Russian deputy FM (Part 2)

GENEVA. March 2 (Interfax) - The policy of the United States and NATO that leads to escalation of the conflict in Ukraine is fraught with a direct clash between nuclear powers, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"The course of the United States and NATO in general towards further fanning of the conflict in Ukraine and around it, which has been deliberately instigated by them, poses the most acute strategic threat. Their increasing involvement in the armed confrontation is fraught with a direct military clash between nuclear powers with catastrophic consequences," Ryabkov said at a session of the Disarmament Conference in Geneva.

Moscow points out these risks to the West, he said.
