NEW DELHI. March 2 (Interfax) - A resume will be adopted instead of a declaration after the meeting between the foreign ministers of the G20 countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference in New Delhi.
"The discussion, at least as regards the Western delegations' speeches, tilted towards an emotional statement," he said. "And all those things, of course, hurt normal discussion of the problems that are really on the agenda of the G20," Lavrov said.
"As a result of their position, the declaration was blocked," he said. "The results of the discussion will be laid out in a resume, which will be presented by the Indian chair. I hope they will objectively reflect the exchange of opinions," the Russian minister said.
Summing up the ministerial meeting, he said China, along with Russia, "supported the inclusion of the corresponding paragraph [concerning the Nord Stream sabotage] in the declaration, which did not eventuate."
"That was mainly what we and China wanted. Most developing members of the G20 stated understanding to us and readiness to agree with the inclusion of such provision in the declaration," Lavrov said.
