MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has noted the need for a comprehensive response to Russia's adversaries that are increasingly trying to interfere with the operation of Russian administrative and financial systems controlled by digital technologies.
"Obviously, our adversaries are increasingly trying to interfere with the operation of administrative and financial systems controlled by digital technologies. The countering of such threats should be comprehensive, by means of various universal tools," Medvedev said.
He visited the Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Plant in the Sverdlovsk region and chaired a meeting on the provision of information security and technological independence of critical information infrastructure of the atomic energy industry on Thursday.
A research and production company managed by Rosatom is the lead organization in charge of the development, production and technical support to Russian software and hardware, Medvedev said.
Rosatom launched an import-substitution program for information infrastructure in 2019 to provide domestic software and hardware, he said.
"This is why the atomic energy industry has been chosen for a pilot project to ensure technological independence of information infrastructure. This kind of project aims to design and test trusted software and hardware," Medvedev said.
Solutions to be developed in this area should be customized for "other elements of critical information infrastructure and, eventually, the authorities," he said.
"A common, universal approach should be elaborated in this area," Medvedev said.
