Explosive devices found in Russia's Bryansk region being defused - FSB

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Demining of detected explosive devices is underway in the Klimovo district of the Bryansk region, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Thursday evening.

The FSB said it is checking and searching the area, as "a great number of explosive devices of various types have been discovered and are being defused".

"As a result of the attack by Ukrainian nationalists, a local resident was killed and an 11-year-old child suffered a gunshot wound," the security service said.

"The situation in the populated localities of the Klimovo district of the Bryansk region is under the control of law enforcement agencies," the FSB said.

Earlier on Thursday, the FSB said that measures were being taken to eliminate armed Ukrainian radicals in the border district of the Bryansk region.

"In the border Klimovo district of the Bryansk region, the Russian Federal Security Service and the forces of the Russian Defense Ministry assigned to it are taking measures to eliminate armed Ukrainian nationalists who violated the state border," the security service said.
