MINSK. March 2 (Interfax) - Belarusian paratroopers have practiced eliminating illegal armed formations near the border with Poland, the press service for the Belarusian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"A company tactical exercise was conducted with troops of a unit of the airborne assault brigade at the Brest training range. The paratroopers practiced a number of tasks to eliminate illegal armed groups in different terrains," the statement said.
As reported, the airborne assault company was operating with the means of reinforcement, and the fire correction was carried out with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
"With the assistance of air defense systems the enemy's drones were countered. Assault operations were the focus of special attention. Paratroopers mopped up trenches and destroyed a mock enemy stronghold," the Belarusian Defense Ministry added.
