MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - The events that took place in the Bryansk region on Thursday will be thoroughly looked into, and measures are expected to be taken following this analysis to prevent terrorist attacks in the future, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
Asked a journalist to comment on reports that the so-called Russian Volunteer Corps has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in the Bryansk region and whether there are plans in this context to designate this group as terrorist, Peskov said, "Investigative procedures are ongoing. Security services are working."
"First, it is necessary to accurately establish all circumstances, and conclusions will be drawn then based on the results of the investigation," he said.
When asked whether the Bryansk region authorities' measures to fortify the border will be checked and whether there are plans to issue additional instructions to the Russian Federal Security Service on top of what was said at the service's board meeting earlier this week, Peskov said, "All that was announced, was announced, you know that regulations on border areas access are in force in the Bryansk region, additional measures are being taken."
"Of course, yesterday's terrorist act will be analyzed, and measures will be taken to prevent similar developments in the future," he said.
