Belarusian Interior Ministry sets up unit to fight reconnaissance and sabotage groups - minister

MINSK. March 6 (Interfax) - The Rys anti-sabotage unit is actively working across Belarus, the country's Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov said, adding that the unit was staffed with specially trained contract servicemen of the Interior Ministry Forces.

"The Interior Ministry Forces have set up a special unit, named Rys. Its primary objective is to fight reconnaissance and sabotage groups. Nowadays, this unit actively operates throughout Belarus. It has specially trained employees, servicemen of the Interior Ministry Forces. The unit is staffed by contract servicemen only, and they are ready to operate in any part of our country," Kubrakov said on the state-run television channel ONT on Sunday.
