MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has designated the non-governmental organization Transparency International, which was earlier declared a foreign agent in Russia and whose administrators are foreign citizens, as an organization whose activities in Russia are undesirable.
"Having studied materials that came into its possession, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office has decided to designate the activities of Transparency International, headquartered in Berlin (Germany) and governed by foreign citizens, as undesirable in Russian territory," it said.
The Prosecutor General's Office said it has determined that Transparency International's activities clearly surpass the boundaries of its declared objectives.
"Formally acting as an organization combating corruption worldwide, it has interfered in the Russian Federation's affairs, which poses a threat to the foundations of the Russian Federation's constitutional system and security," it said.
