TASHKENT. March 6 (Interfax) - The first meeting of special representatives of Afghanistan's neighboring countries is due to take place in Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent on March 7, the press service for the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
"The participants in the meeting will discuss the current situation in Afghanistan, interaction between the parties working to settle the situation in the country and to establish a lasting peace and stability there, as well as the provision of humanitarian aid to the Afghan people," the press service said.
The meeting is expected to involve representatives of Uzbekistan, Iran, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
