MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - The Kremlin treats Beijing's opinion on the Ukraine crisis with great attention yet there are no preconditions for shifting to the peaceful track just yet, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"We treat every idea we are hearing from Beijing, from our colleagues with great attention," Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
"Yet, as you know, the special military operation is ongoing, and there are no preconditions for shifting this situation onto a peaceful track. So, Russia seeks to fulfill its tasks and to achieve its objectives by continuing the special military operation," he said.
Peskov thus responded to a question on how much, in the Kremlin's opinion, the action plan for Ukraine proposed by Beijing could influence the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
China presented a 12-point peace plan for Ukraine, and Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said at a press conference on the sidelines of a session of the National People's Congress in Beijing on Tuesday that the only way to settle the Ukraine crisis is through talks, taking into account the concerns of all interested parties.
