YEREVAN. March 14 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has offered Azerbaijan to broaden the Prague format of meetings on Karabakh settlement by inviting Germany or the United States.
"If Azerbaijan does not like France's position, let us broaden the format by inviting Germany or the U.S.," Pashinyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.
The meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French President Emmanuel Macron and European Council President Charles Michel, which took place in Prague in October 2022, "was one of the most effective," he said.
Back then, Armenia and Azerbaijan reaffirmed their commitment to the UN Charter and the Almaty Declaration of 1991, by which both sides recognized each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Later on, Azerbaijan refused to meet in this format because of France's stance on the Karabakh issue.
Pashinyan also said that the Brussels format with the participation of Michel was not effective, because "dozens of the reached agreements have not been fulfilled."
Pashinyan and Aliyev have held four talks in Brussels at Michel's initiative.
