Putin to hold talks with Syrian President al-Assad in Kremlin on March 15

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the Kremlin on March 15, the Kremlin press service said.

"They will discuss topical issues of further development of Russian-Syrian cooperation in the political, trade and economic and humanitarian areas, as well as the prospects for a comprehensive settlement of the situation in and around Syria," the statement said.

The Syrian SANA news agency reported on Tuesday evening that Syrian President al-Assad had arrived for a visit to Russia. "President al-Assad has arrived in Moscow on an official visit and expects to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin," it said.
