MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - The Russian military has destroyed three ammunition depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and eliminated a Ukrainian reconnaissance group in the Zaporozhye region, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Three ammunition depots of Ukrainian Armed Forces units were destroyed in the areas of Dachnoye, Galitsynovka and Novoselovka Pervaya of the Donetsk People's Republic," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was eliminated near Novodanilovka, Zaporozhye region, he said.
"In the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye sectors, strikes of operational tactical and army aviation and artillery fire of the eastern group of forces defeated the enemy in the areas of Ugledar and Prechistovka in the Donetsk People's Republic and Scherbaki in the Zaporozhye region," Konashenkov said.
"In the Donetsk sector, as a result of active operations of the units, air strikes and artillery fire of the southern group of forces, the enemy suffered losses of up to 160 Ukrainian troops, one tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, two armored fighting vehicles and four vehicles over the past day," the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said.
"An Akatsiya self-propelled artillery gun, a D-20 howitzer, two Grad and Uragan multiple rocket launchers, as well as an M777 artillery system and a U.S.-made M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer were destroyed," he said.
The total losses of the Ukrainian army in these sectors reached up to 75 troops, three armored combat vehicles, four pickup trucks and an Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system, Konashenkov said.
"In the Kherson sector, more than 35 Ukrainian troops, six vehicles and a D-30 howitzer were eliminated over the past day," he said.
