Kremlin has nothing to add to Defense Ministry's exhaustive statement on U.S. drone incident over Black Sea - Peskov (Part 2)

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has nothing to add to the Russian Defense Ministry's statement on Tuesday's incident involving a U.S. drone over the Black Sea, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

Journalists asked Peskov to comment on the incident and wondered how it could affect Russian-American relations.

"We have nothing to add to the Defense Ministry's statement. It was exhaustive enough, and it described the circumstances of the incident," Peskov said.

He insisted that there was no "physical contact" between a Russian warplane and the U.S. drone.

"I suggest you proceed from the Defense Ministry's statement, which says clearly that no weapons were used and there was no physical contact," Peskov said.

"As for bilateral relations, we know that they are at the lowest point and in quite a deplorable state, but definitely, each country will defend its interests in dialogue," Peskov said.

"Russia has never refused to maintain a constructive dialogue, and it is not refusing to do so now," he said.
