MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - The Russian military has destroyed a Ukrainian radar station for detecting low-flying targets in the Kharkov region, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"A Ukrainian 36D6 low-flying aerial target detection radar station was uncovered and destroyed near the settlement of Mirnoye in the Kharkov region," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.
In addition, a U.S.-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar station was destroyed near the settlement of Redkodub in the Donetsk People's Republic, he said.
Konashenkov said Russian air defense assets had intercepted five rounds of U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS and a Tochka-U tactical missile and destroyed 14 Ukrainian drones in the Kharkov and Kherson regions and in the Lugansk People's Republic over the past day.
"The operational tactical and army aviation, missile forces and artillery of the groups of troops (forces) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit 82 Ukrainian Armed Forces artillery units at firing positions, troops and military hardware in 112 areas over the past day," the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said.
