MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - If the United Kingdom supplies Ukraine with depleted uranium shells, Russia will have to react, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Here today it became known that the UK, on behalf of the deputy secretary of defense of that country, announced not only the supplies of tanks to Ukraine, but also shells containing depleted uranium, it seems that the West has really decided to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian no longer in words, but in deeds," Putin said after talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"But I would like to note in this regard that if all this happens, Russia will have to react accordingly, I mean that the collective West is starting to use weapons with a nuclear component already," he added.
Putin noted that he had received a report of this British intention during his talks with Xi, with whom, among other things, he had discussed the possibility of implementing a Chinese plan for a settlement in Ukraine.
