MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - Russia remains committed to the One China policy, Taiwan is an integral part of the People's Republic of China (PRC), under a joint statement signed by President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping after their talks in Moscow.
The sides oppose any intervention by external forces in the internal affairs, the document, published on the Kremlin website, says.
"The Russian side reaffirms its commitment to the One China principle, recognizes that Taiwan is an integral part of the PRC, is against the independence of Taiwan in any shape or form, firmly backs any action by the Chinese side aimed at protecting its national sovereignty and territorial integrity," the statement said.
