MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - Former member of the International Memorial Society board Oleg Orlov, charged with repeatedly discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, has said that travel restrictions have been imposed on him.
"Now, my status of suspect has changed to accused. Travel restrictions were chosen as a restraining measure," Orlov told journalists while leaving the Tverskoi district department of the Moscow branch of the Russian Investigative Committee.
On Tuesday, Memorial representatives said that a criminal case on charges of repeatedly discrediting the Russian Armed Forces had been opened against him.
Orlov said that the reason for opening the criminal case against him was the posting on his social network page of his article earlier published in a French media outlet
The International Memorial Society is recognized as a foreign agent NGO in Russia.
