Estonia expelling Russian diplomat

TALLINN. March 24 (Interfax/BNS) - The Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian embassy's charge d'affaires ad interim on Friday and handed a diplomatic note that an embassy employee with diplomatic status has been declared persona non grata, the ministry's press service told the BNS news agency.

The Estonian Foreign Ministry believes that the activities of this Russian diplomat contradict the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and, therefore, he must leave Estonia no later than on March 29.

The diplomat "has been engaged in directly and actively undermining Estonia's security and constitutional order, spreading propaganda that justifies Russia's military action and causing divisions in Estonian society," the press service said.
