MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - The Soyuz MS-23 spaceship will be re-docked from the Poisk to Prichal module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS) on April 6, Roscosmos said on Friday.
"The re-docking of the Soyuz MS-23 crewed spacecraft from the Poisk small research module to the Prichal nodal module is due on April 6," the state corporation said in a statement.
The operation will be carried out manually by cosmonaut Sergei Prokopyev, who will be on board the ship with Dmitry Petelin and NASA astronaut Francisco Rubio, it said.
"The re-docking is intended to ensure a safe spacewalk out of the Poisk module under the Russian program," the statement said.
Soyuz MS-23 docked to the ISS on February 26 to replace Soyuz MS-22, which was damaged by a meteoroid in December.
The Soyuz MS-22 crew - Prokopyev, Petelin and Rubio - could return to the Earth aboard Soyuz MS-23 in the fall.
