Russian Pacific Fleet's corvette holds artillery drill in Sea of Japan

VLADIVOSTOK. March 27 (Interfax) - The Gromky corvette of the Russian Pacific Fleet has held an artillery drill in the Sea of Japan in the course of a combat training mission, the fleet press service said on Monday.

The corvette fired an A-190 artillery gun at a target simulating the mock enemy's ship. It also trained mine countermeasures by destroying mockups of floating mines by a heavy machinegun.

The corvette's radio-technical units, operating together with artillery crews, set a decoy by off-board countermeasures.

In addition, the Gromky corvette trained ship defense and protection on unsafe roadstead.
