Russian ambassador may arrive in Libya shortly - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - A Russian ambassador may arrive in Libya shortly, while the time when the embassy opens depends on the provision of security, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.

"I think that will happen shortly," Bogdanov told reporters in response to a question when the ambassador might arrive in Libya.

"The last technicalities associated with the place of work" are being dealt with, Bogdanov said. "It is necessary to prepare the place of work from the angle of administration and security," he said.

The embassy can open "as soon as tomorrow," which depends on ensuring security rather than the ambassador's readiness, Bogdanov said.

"We do not have a building of our own, so we will have to work from a hotel, same as some other foreign embassies," he said.
