MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - The Kremlin regrets that the UN Security Council has not adopted a resolution on investigating the terror attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines and pledges further effort to prevent the issue from being "stalled," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"We regret that our initiative has not passed yet, clearly, the Russian side will continue its effort to prevent the issue from being stalled," Peskov said.
The Kremlin believes "everyone should be interested in an objective inquiry involving all interested sides, those who can shed light on the masterminds and perpetrators of this terror attack," Peskov said.
"We will do everything we can to keep insisting on and initiating an international inquiry of the kind," he said.
The UN Security Council on Monday failed to approve a draft resolution, which condemned the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in September 2022.
Three countries voted for, 12 abstained, and none voted against. It was said at the meeting that the draft resolution was deemed unapproved, as it did not gain enough votes.
Russia authored the resolution. Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky said earlier that China co-authored the resolution.
