MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - An air defense regiment of Russia's Baltic Fleet has conducted an exercise to practice electronic (simulated) launches of S-400 Triumph missiles, the fleet's press service said on Tuesday.
The drills were planned in advance to practice repelling a simulated enemy's air raid, it said.
"During the practical phase of the exercise, S-400 crews were trained to act after receiving a report on a violation of air boundaries by simulated enemy aircraft, whose role was played by several Sukhoi Su-27 fighter jets of the fleet's naval aviation unit," it said.
"After receiving the report, the air defense crews took tests on deploying launchers and looking for, identifying, and tracking training targets. In conclusion of the practice, crews of Triumph air defense systems carried out training (electronic) missile launches, resulting in the successful destruction of all aerial targets," it said.
