MOSCOW. March 29 (Interfax) - The Russian Space Systems Holding and the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation, which are part of Roscosmos, have developed a concept for a testing bench for Russia's prospective space station, the holding press service said on Wednesday.
"Specialists at the Russian Space Systems Holding, working together with scientists from the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation, have developed a concept for a bench for testing satellite equipment in outer space," the press service said.
They plan to install the testing bench on Russia's prospective space station, it said.
"Bench tests in space will be an addition to ground trials, which will cut the risk of a negative result in future test flights of spacecraft, and minimize the need for improving equipment before launching serial production," the holding said.
The bench will have two parts - an external part installed in space and an internal part inside an airtight compartment.
