MINSK. March 29 (Interfax) - The number of Belarusians who will be summoned for military training this year will remain at the level of previous years, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
"A resolution of the government annually sets the number of men liable for military service to take part in training. This year, the number of men liable for military service who are summoned for military training will remain at the levels of last year and the year before that, nine thousand. This means that nothing has changed," Minsk deputy military commissioner Vladimir Ignatik told the state-run media outlet SB.Belarus Segodyna.
In his words, the main purpose of the military training is to master the operation of more advanced weapons.
